Scioto Riverfront Peninsula
Columbus, Ohio
The Scioto River Front Park & Amphitheatre project revitalizes a key section of Columbus’s downtown riverfront, creating a signature public venue that enhances both community life and the adjacent Center of Science and Industry (COSI). The redeveloped amphitheater, envisioned as the “front door” to COSI, provides a scenic, flexible outdoor gathering space that accommodates approximately 3,000 visitors for concerts, festivals, and civic events. Designed to integrate seamlessly with the broader Scioto Peninsula improvements, the project emphasizes connectivity, public accessibility, and an elevated visitor experience along the river’s edge. Its picturesque setting, upgraded amenities, and role as a cultural anchor strengthen the downtown corridor and contribute to ongoing efforts to activate Columbus’s waterfront as a vibrant destination.
“The Riverfront Amphitheatre was a very large project for Columbus Recreation and Parks and our first opportunity to work with a Construction Manager. It was important that the amphitheatre and COSI appear to be a single project, though they have different owners. Ruscilli’s coordination of our project with COSI’s was excellent, and we are very pleased with the outcome. Because of Ruscilli, the finished project appears totally unified; I believe it can be said all parties benefited”
