Ruscilli Construction completed the renovation of the historic Indianola Middle School to create a modern home for Metro Early College High School, transforming a 92,000sf, three-story facility into a vibrant learning environment for 720 students in grades 6 through 12. Located on a 7.6-acre site near The Ohio State University campus, the project revitalized a nationally recognized Art Deco landmark, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, preserving its architectural character while reconfiguring interior spaces to support a flexible, student-centered STEM curriculum.

The renovation involved a complete interior transformation of a long-vacant building, including the replacement of all major building systems and the introduction of modern classrooms, laboratories, and collaborative learning environments designed to enhance student engagement and real-world learning opportunities. By integrating new technology and high-performance systems within the existing structure, the project improved energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, and long-term durability while extending the life of a historic community asset. The result is a unique educational environment that blends historic character with 21st-century functionality, providing Metro students with an inspiring, future-ready space for academic and personal growth.
