Located at a prominent gateway between the main campus and the Wexner Medical Center, the Heminger Hall Renovation and Addition establishes a strong first impression for visitors arriving from the south while providing a healthy, high performance academic environment for students and faculty. The project delivers innovative clinical and learning spaces for the College’s Institute for Optimal Health and Wellness, including technology enabled classrooms, collaborative meeting and conference spaces with advanced audiovisual capabilities, and flexible office clusters that support collaborative research, teaching, and clinical practice within Centers of Excellence.
Heminger Hall is OSU’s first dual certified sustainable building, achieving LEED® and WELL Building Standard® certifications through a comprehensive sustainability strategy integrated throughout design and construction. Sustainable features included maximizing natural daylight, implementing water recycling and filtration systems, enhancing indoor air quality through advanced filtration and live plant integration, and implementing rigorous construction waste management and stormwater control practices. The completed facility reflects OSU’s commitment to health, wellness, and environmental stewardship while demonstrating Ruscilli Construction’s expertise in delivering complex, sustainable academic and clinical environments on an active campus.
