The Advanced Materials Corridor project involved the comprehensive renovation and replacement of the approximately 192,000sf, 50 year old Koffolt, Fontana, and Macquigg Laboratory complex. The project transformed the aging facilities into modern academic and research environments, including teaching laboratories, research laboratories, lecture halls, classrooms, offices, distance learning spaces, and penthouse-level building systems.

Located within the dense core of the university campus and directly adjacent to active academic facilities, the project required a multi phase phasing and logistics program to maintain ongoing operations. This approach supported temporary swing space, utility upgrades, and complex MEP system coordination while accommodating uninterrupted classroom and research activities throughout construction. Upon completion, the renovated buildings serve the Departments of Materials Science & Engineering and Biomedical Engineering.
