Otterbein University | The Point
Westerville, Ohio
The Point is a 62,000sf facility that was renovated to serve as Otterbein University’s interdisciplinary academic and innovation center. Originally constructed in 1969 as an office and warehouse facility, the existing Steelox/Armco pre engineered metal building was adaptively reused to support contemporary academic, instructional, and collaborative functions.
The renovation included a 40,000sf interior build out featuring a new south facing entrance, upgrades within the previously vacant shell, and targeted modifications to existing spaces. The completed facility provides technology rich instructional environments, functioning laboratories, flexible meeting and collaboration areas, and administrative offices. In addition, The Point incorporates a catering kitchen, coffee shop, and game room, along with modern building support spaces typical of contemporary campus facilities, creating a dynamic setting that supports teaching, learning, and interdisciplinary engagement.
