Columbus State Community College | Franklin Hall
Columbus, Ohio
The Franklin Hall Renovation involves the comprehensive transformation of a 41,750sf academic building on the college’s Columbus campus. Formerly housing a mix of classrooms and administrative offices, the project addresses long standing building deficiencies by converting the interior into a modern, classroom focused academic facility. To support construction activities, classroom functions will be temporarily relocated to other campus facilities, while existing administrative offices will be permanently relocated. Franklin Hall was identified by the college as one of the most maintenance challenged buildings on campus, necessitating a full interior renovation.
The renovation is planned to deliver flexible, contemporary learning environments, with a program emphasis on instructional spaces and academic enhancements. Current plans include the adaptive reuse of a portion of the building to support environmental science laboratory space, expanding hands on learning opportunities within the facility. The project reflects Columbus State’s broader strategy to modernize campus infrastructure and better align instructional spaces with evolving academic needs..
