OSU Recreational Fields Improvements

Columbus, OH

This project consists of improvements at two recreational fields sites on main campus. Renovations to the 11-acre Coffey Road Park site include refurbishing of and additions to the existing sports lighting system, along with extensions of the irrigation system to provide multi-use recreation fields to accommodate flag football, ultimate Frisbee, NCAA soccer, intramural soccer, softball and other outdoor sports activities. A new 2,400sf support building was constructed to house remote Rec Sports offices, equipment storage and dispersal, restrooms, and a garage for maintenance equipment. This undertaking required the integration of a new underground water detention system, utility relocations and restoration replacement of the existing grass fields. Nearby Lincoln Tower Park, home to two existing practice fields for “TBDBITL” (The Best Damn Band in the Land!), as well as intramural and rec sports events, also saw improvements through the replacement of the synthetic turf at these fields.
