Phase One of this 186,000 square foot complex included construction of a new 625-bed correctional building as well as connection to an existing incarceration facility. Construction consisted of two new two-story wings, each surrounding a central courtyard. In addition, the project included interior courtyards, parking lots, driveways, curbs, walks, landscaping, security fencing and site utilities. The structure is a combination of cast-in-place concrete and concrete block with brick veneer. Due to the savings realized by Ruscilli during the initial phase, the County chose to construct a third wing rather than renovate the existing space.
