Canine Companions for Independence DogFest Walk ‘n Roll

One of our employees is such an avid supporter of our friends at Canine Companions for Independence that she raised over $1,000 for their DogFest Walk ‘n Roll last Saturday. She met many Canine Companions (including one still in training!) and even had the closest estimate of the quantity of dog treats in a jar and won the whole jar for her personal dogs!

Founded in 1975, Canine Companions for Independence® is a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships. For more information on their organization and the DogFest Walk ‘n Roll event, visit their website at www.cci.org.

Support Our Troops!

Ruscilli’s Community Involvement Committee recently completed a drive to collect ‘most needed items’ to be sent to our troops serving overseas!

We collected (1560) Slim Jim Sticks, (630) Packs of Fruit Snacks, (614) Packs of Crackers, (227) Razors, (117) Packs of Tuna w/crackers, (48) Deodorants, (29) Packs of peanuts, and (23) Hand Sanitizers!

We partnered with an organization called Operation Buckeye. Operation Buckeye was formed with the sole purpose of sending boxes to our troops as a way to thank them for their efforts and to bring a touch of home to them. The boxes sent contain food and snacks, personal hygiene items, reading materials, and good wishes of love and support.

Operation Buckeye provides caring civilians the opportunity to show their appreciation and respect to the men and women of our military stationed in hostile and remote regions of the world. To learn more, you can visit: http://www.operationbuckeye.org/.

Safety First!

Earlier this month, Ruscilli associates, Jim Cetovich and Lisa Vonk paid a visit to our jobsite at the Poindexter Village Community Center to teach the children about construction safety.

Each of the children was given their very own hard hat, but what they found most exciting, was trying on the Ruscilli safety vest!

It’s never too early to start teaching the importance of safety to children!

We Need Your Help!

Ruscilli completed the first phase of renovations for the new Community Shelter Board center in July 2014 and is now wrapping up construction on the new Van Buren Center that is set to open this Autumn.  This new center will help meet the increasing need for shelter in our community. It will feature the capacity to shelter up to 356 single adults and 85 families.

Please join Ruscilli Construction in collecting linens and toiletries to ensure the well-being of our most vulnerable neighbors – our brothers and sisters, moms and dads with kids. The most critically needed items are the simple things we all use each day to stay safe, clean and warm.

The time is NOW. Open your heart to people who ever imagined they would need your help. You can drop the collected items off at:

Van Buren Center – 595 Van Buren Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43223

OR

Ruscilli Construction – 5000 Arlington Centre Blvd., Suite 300, Columbus, Ohio 43220

Questions? Contact Charity Eilerman at 614-715-2545 or ceilerman@csb.org

Ruscilli Helps CSB in Mission to end Homelessness

Ruscilli Construction is a proud supporter of the Community Shelter Board and its mission to end homelessness.  With the new family shelter currently under construction, Ruscilli is helping to supply more capacity for CSB to help people move permanently from homeless to home.  At yesterday’s “Together Rebuilding Lives” event, shared stories gave attendees an opportunity to see exactly how the Community Shelter Board and its partners are positively impacting lives in our community.
